The Celebrity Traitors UK season 2 preview
We all know the score by now — Faithful or Traitor, banish correctly or face murder, complete a bunch of random tasks to boost the prize pot — but the real fun is seeing how the game will be played each time, who takes on the role of ‘Traitor hunter,’ who makes it to the end solely because they're too much of an easy target and which Traitors will crack under pressure.
Season 1 of the UK celebrity edition proved a fascinating shift from what we’ve seen before, with the well-established personas of the group coming under scrutiny, and the fact that they were well-known personalities giving the gameplay an extra dimension when compared with the civilian version in which everyone goes in as not only a stranger to one another, but a blank canvas. Who can forget Joe Marler’s ‘big dog’ theory — something based solely on Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry’s exalted celebrity statuses — which, while only partially correct, led the Faithful’s gameplay early on.
This time out, there’s a whole new bunch of recognisable faces set to fight it out, including University Challenge host Amol Rajan, The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey and music legend James Blunt. There’s also former Little Mixer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, stage and screen royalty in Michael Sheen and Richard E. Grant, hardman Ross Kemp and Love Island host Maya Jama. After Carr and Mohammed proved comedians are not to be underestimated, the 2026 roster is inundated with funny people, with James Acaster, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Miranda Hart, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan all entering the famous castle.
The Celebrity Traitors S2 has all the makings of a classic, and it's a mouth-watering prospect for fans to see not only which of that group will be selected as Traitors, but how such an eclectic group of remaining Faithfuls go about weeding them out.

What's the latest from The Celebrity Traitors S2?
**SPOILERS FOR THE CELEBRITY TRAITORS SEASON 2**
The season opener for The Celebrity Traitors season 2 was a chaotic affair, delivering more twists, turns and iconic moments than some other seasons can boast throughout their whole run.
We got off to a gloriously camp start when, once our famous faces were duly assembled in the chapel, a funeral procession delivered a coffin, from which Claudia emerged to get the game underway.
After a brief game to determine who the group deemed the most trustworthy (Julie, it turns out) and therefore deserving of two shields (one of which the Corrie star gifted to comedian Joe Lycett) it was off the Adross Castle for the first Round Table, and the Traitor selection.
In a tense ceremony that saw Claudia retain a few notes from her former job, quickstepping behind the group, Love Island host Maya Jama and acting legend Richard E. Grant were chosen as this years inaugural dastardly deceivers. However, Claudia warned the players that the Traitor's team is not yet complete, and a third would be recruited before the first murder.
Maya took it in her stride, falling in alongside the Faithful. Richard, on the other hand, leaned fully in to his Shakespearean roots, stating, when asked by Joe, that he was indeed a Traitor. It was an absolutely wild swing from the newly minted villain, but given Richard's on-screen camp baddie persona, it just might pay off.
The following day, the challenge involved wooden ships, crates and explosions, and ultimately banked the group the full £15,000 at stake, but the real headline was Ross Kemp insisting that he had been murdered in plain sight when Bella playfully placed a captain's hat on his head. Ross' unbridled paranoia raised it's head again later, when after being tapped on the arm by Leigh-Anne, he once again believed he'd been bumped off.
In Traitors Tower, Richard and Maya had a choice to make — choose two Faithfuls to summon to the chapel, and let each state their case for joining the side of evil. Recruit the most convincing, murder the other. As the episode drew to a close, Amol and James were left pleading for their lives, but it remains to be seen which had their coffin lid closed for good...
Is there a The Celebrity Traitors UK spin-off show?
The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, hosted by comedian Ed Gamble, airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer (and as a podcast on BBC Sounds) after each episode of the main show, with Ed joined by banished and murdered players and previous celebrity and non celebrity-players for a debrief and reactions to the latest betrayals, mind games and manipulations.
For the first time ever, there is a special spin-off focusing on how Claudia chooses her Traitors, with Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides streaming on BBC iPlayer now.
Where was The Celebrity Traitors UK S2 filmed?
The Celebrity Traitors UK was filmed in Ardross Castle, north of Inverness in Scotland. This is also home to the civilian iteration of the UK show, and both US versions of the programme.
Who won season 1 of The Celebrity Traitors UK?
A nail-biting season 1 finale ended with comedian Alan Carr walk away with the prize money as the final remaining Traitor following a tense showdown that resulted in Joe Marler's banishment. Faithfuls David Olusoga and Nick Mohammed elected to end the game, with Carr breaking down in tears as the truth was revealed.
Are there other versions of The Traitors?
There are a number of international versions of the show, including the Dutch original. Of note, the other English language versions come from the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The US version, hosted by Alan Cumming, has taken the opposite route to the UK, currently airing its first civilian-only edition after airing four celeb-packed seasons.
Assorted versions can be streamed for free on BBC iPlayer in the UK and 10Play in Australia.
